LoisLaneforSuperman Trending Event
Our first move will be a Trending Event on Wednesday, August 29 the day the new Justice League issue will be released.
We’re going to trend ‘LoisLaneforSuperman’ (no spaces and hashtags) at 6pm EST to show our support for Lois and Clark. Let @DCComics, @geoffjohns and @JimLee know how you feel about this development and why Lois Lane and Superman are still right for each other after 70 years!
It’s very important to spread the word on this because this event will have absolutely no impact if there are just 10 people trending. So please reblog and inform everyone who might want to be part of this.
Also like I said in my first post eveyone who has a talent in making gifs, banners etc would help a lot by creating something to promote this event.
Needless to say that the best thing you can do is NOT to buy the issue. There’s already an internet buzz about the released cover featuring Superman and Wonder Woman kissing (yuck!), so please keep your hands off the issue, even if you’re curious how it happens.
It’s obvious that all DC cares about right now is money, which was the reason for the reboot in the first place. Which is ironic because you might think if DC tries to attract the mainstream audience they would stick with the couple which is most famous in common knowledge.
What puzzles me is that one of the most appealing things about Superman is the fact that he is in love with a human, an alien who is destined to save mankind finds true love in this sassy, imperfect journalist who is his link to humanity.Im not a huge comic book reader but I always loved Lois and Clark since I was a child and for me, this was the most beautiful part of the story.But by pairing him up with Wonder Woman all of this, everything what makes Superman so special, will be gone.
I remember comments from DC were they expressed their happiness about Smallville’s huge success, that the mainstream audience get’s insight on Superhero knowledge they wouldn’t have without the show. Smallville was ALL about Supermans link to humanity, first with Lana and later with Lois, this is what made the show so popular, that they showed a vulnerable side of him. I don’t know why DC does not get it.
I know Geoff Johns and Jim Lee are expecting critical voices, in fact they are eagerly waiting for it, even if I don’t want to make them happy right now (:P), I think it’s important that we do this, that we stick together and show them that we care!
